Yesterday our very own Jodie Gee attended the fantastic Food & Drink Futures Forum at The Future Laboratory to witness a global snapshot of the food and drink landscape and future trends.

The Future Laboratory brought it to life with an analysis of the new consumer demands and desires that brands will need to engage with to ensure success to 2020 and beyond. As well as a chef-ducational walking tasting tour, hosted by Blanch and Shock, the latest influential food and drink trends were sampled.
Plated food inspired by the ‘Trash to Table’ trend whereby waste products are transformed into culinary treasures - such as cod cheeks poached in whey! The cheese making session went down a treat too. The forum showcased the trends behind the £1.6 trillion global food and £1.2 trillion global drink markets followed by a deep dive into what is new, next and game-changing in the world of food and drink.

The challenges and opportunities of Protein Power, Flexitarian Lifestyles, Wellness Rising, Shortage Scares and Top-up Shopping where revealed alongside Alco-health, Spirit Resurrections and High-low Dining! These next five year macro and micro trends provide us with fantastic insight to share with our clients and help shape their communications strategies.
