Our trade team recently instigated a thought leadership initiative for Hovis to demonstrate how independent retailers could best benefit from the competitive bread category.

Working with leading convenience trade publication Independent Retail News (IRN), selected retailers took part in our Roundtable event which focused on quality, innovation and ranging to uncover key insights and solutions for their challenges.

The activity was supported with a Retailer Relay where Hovis demonstrated optimum merchandising advice including Point of Sale and secondary sightings to maximise bread sales.

With one of the retailers having strong local community links and high footfall around school home time, the recommendation was to focus on sampling at that key time of the day – demonstrating not only the versatile nature of the Hovis range, but to drive further footfall.
