This month, our spotlight is on our Trade Associate Director, Simon Mowbray – he of ex The Grocer News Editor fame. An award-winning consumer and business journalist, and the Press Association’s former Consumer Affairs Correspondent, Simon has made regular contributions to broadcast media including The Money Programme, BBC’s News at Ten, ITV News and Radio 4’s You and Yours, as well as preparing hundreds of company and industry spokespeople for grillings on the likes of Newsnight and Watchdog.

Never has real-time marketing meant more as social media often breaks the news even faster than broadcasters, with stories catching fire in seconds. This requires high levels of issues protocol and response preparedness. An integral part of our corporate reputation and crisis & issues management team, Simon continues to put our clients through high profile media training at a mix of on-site locations, Cirkle’s premises and broadcast studios to optimise real-time authenticity.

Coaching senior stakeholders, as well as preparing more junior members for their moment in the spotlight, his interactive training courses prepare spokespeople for the ‘Paxman effect’, equipping them with the necessary skills to handle all manner of interviews, from live and pre-recorded broadcast, to national newspapers and magazines, and leading trade media, with consistency of message across multiple communications channels.

From multi-million pound brand launches and company mergers, to site closures, consumer backlash and product recalls, Simon’s media training has proved highly beneficial in helping our clients protect and enhance their corporate reputations.
