Last week our Foodservice Team launched Premier Foods’ latest evolution on its Healthcare Solution journey with its guide for caterers to support the new International Dysphagia Diet Standards which comes into effect in April.

Dysphagia is a medical condition which affects many people (22% of over 55’s) and results in difficulty swallowing solid foods. As part of our ongoing work with Premier Foods to support and amplify its Healthcare Solutions Programme, we worked with its culinary team to create the guide to include information, advice and recipe suggestions using brands in its portfolio including Bisto, Homepride, Sharwood’s and McDougalls.

New texture modified recipe creations, suitable for those with dysphagia, included Kedgeree with Sharwood’s Balti Sauce, Minted Lamb Casserole, Passionfruit Pavlova and Chocolate & Baileys Cupcakes.

Demonstrating Premier Foods’ thought leadership in this space, our roundtable event addressed the challenges faced by caterers, care homes and hospitals as we unveiled the guide to influencers including The Caterer, Hospital Food & Service, Care Home Catering and the National Association of Care Caterers. We’re proud of the purpose-based work we continue to do with Premier Foods which has already resulted in multiple award shortlists including FDF Awards and IGD Awards.
