Working closely with Haleon, we identified a lack of consistency around the provision of preventative care advice in dental surgeries across the UK

Placing preventative oral care at the top of the agenda for Haleon

To better understand this, we commissioned research with oral health professionals and patients (consumers), which highlighted the opportunity that preventative oral care can play in helping alleviate some of the challenges facing the industry. The resulting ‘Dental Health Barometer’ findings are now helping to build solutions that will make it easier for oral health professionals to offer preventative care advice, and for patients and consumers to access it.

We launched the findings through an industry webinar, hosted in collaboration with the College of General Dentistry, attracting over 153 registrations. Attendees included Dental Health Professionals, Expert Media, and representatives from the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities. Supporting media coverage was secured in national and trade media, with commentary shared across Haleon stakeholders’ LinkedIn channels.

We have since initiated engagement with Government stakeholders over the findings, and are hosting industry focus groups to understand how we can make preventative care more accessible.

Keeping preventative oral care in the news

The research has enabled Haleon to build its voice in the industry, and we have been leveraging the insights to provide timely commentary to media on key policy announcements, such as Labour’s Child Health Action Plan and the Conservative Government’s Dental Recovery Plan. This proactive engagement highlights Haleon’s commitment to addressing the ongoing dental crisis and working with industry to find solutions.
