Each year, we open the Cirkle doors to a group of work experience students so they take a look behind-the-scenes in our growing agency and get a taster for a career in comms.

Last week, our latest cohort got to rotate through all the departments of the business, including consumer brand, social, corporate, B2B, retail trade – and even finance!

They worked on a host of dummy briefs and on their last day, had the opportunity to develop and present back a creative response to our Creative Director and Senior Creative, no mean feat! Massive thanks to Meenu, John, Kain, Alicia and Freya for all your hard work and enthusiasm. This is what some of them had to say about their week with us.

Kain:

I thought this week PR internship at Cirkle was well structured, challenging, and enjoyable. The mix between being inducted by the different teams alongside the practical individual and group work was excellent. I was able to apply into action the knowledge I gained during the tasks, this has helped me build on my creative and communication skills. I enjoyed the social content, consumer, and creative tasks the most, I was able to generate some interesting campaign ideas and work collaboratively with the other interns throughout.

There was a great atmosphere in the office during the week and I had the opportunity of meeting a group of hard-working and talented people who are also very friendly and sociable. Ending the week watching the England game in the office with everyone showed me it wasn’t all work and no play – there is a clear promotion of a work-life balance within the agency.

Overall, I want to thank Cirkle for this invaluable opportunity to learn about the world of PR.

Alice:

I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Cirkle where I was able to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. I loved the busy schedule and diverse range of topics and challenges we were set, which kept me engaged and constantly learning. We had briefs and tasks that covered different aspects of PR such as corporate, creative social online digital content, consumer, and B2B. The team was incredibly supportive, with lovely people who generously gave up their time, always going above and beyond to assist us. The experience has helped me narrow down my university choices and career aspirations as well as shape my future goals. Thank you to everyone at Cirkle for giving me this opportunity.

Meenu:

My week at Cirkle was truly an eye-opener! I couldn’t believe how much we packed into just five days. From day one, I felt like I was really part of the team. They broke everything down so well that even someone new to PR could keep up. I loved getting my hands dirty with real tasks – writing press releases, coming up with social media ideas, you name it. The corporate reputation work really got me excited – it’s fascinating how companies manage their public image. Meeting the big shots like the CEO was pretty cool too. It was great to experience both office life and working from home, a real hybrid working experience. Honestly, the week flew by, and it’s made me even more pumped about PR. I’d jump at the chance to work with Cirkle again in the future if they’d have me!

John:

Overall, my experience on the work experience programme here at Cirkle has first and foremost been one of extreme gratitude.
